Grateful for Blessings

We are so excited to be back in Lewiston! Officially! It has been amazing being back with our family and friends. Kenneth did an amazing job packing up all our stuff in Phoenix and driving all the way up here with Brad! I am so glad I didn't have to go and we have an amazing friend who was willing to help! :)

I had two interviews two weeks ago and on Monday, July 16, I was offered both positions! I was so excited! I was offered the part-time job at Tri-State first and accepted it. Four hours later I was offered the full-time, immediate start, with benefits job in Pullman! I accepted it and turned down Tri-State. I called Kenneth and my mom to tell them that I got the Pullman job and I bawled the entire time I talked to them! I was just super excited! I will finally get to have a career in my field of study and I can't wait to actually start and put my skills to good use!

Kenneth has a job at the Aquatic Center again as a life guard and a swim lesson instructor. He is also still employed weekends at the Lewiston Country Club. It is nice to have jobs for the both of us. Kenneth will hopefully be able to go to school in the fall and we will be able to get me a reliable car to drive to Pullman and back! :)

Today is the day we are grateful for the blessings we have been given through jobs and family!

Changing, changing

Rachael and Kyle's wedding was absolutely gorgeous! The entire two weeks before it did nothing but rain, but it seems that Kenneth and I brought the warm weather with us when we came because a lot of people got sunburned at the wedding! I am so incredibly excited for Kyle and Rachael and I can't wait to see what God has in store for them. I am so blessed to have an amazing sister and a great brother-in-law! I am greatful that I was able to be a part of the wedding. It was a great day and they both looked amazing!

In the time of the wedding until our flight flew out of Lewiston on Wednesday, June 20, Kenneth and I discussed moving back home. We decided that it would be smart of us to move home. Kenneth's schooling is going up to $20,000 a year and I possibly don't have a full time nanny position anymore. So, on Wednesday morning, Kenneth and I went to the airport, but I never left. I stayed behind to find a job while Kenneth flew to Phoenix to pack up all of our stuff and drive up in a U-Haul.

I have been helping Mom pack up stuff for the yard sale in two weeks while looking for jobs and praying and trusting God to get me some interviews. Kenneth is headed to the airport in Phoenix here in about 10 minutes to pick up Brad, who flew down to help Kenneth pack the U-Haul and drive back up. We are so thankful to Brad for taking time off work to go help Kenneth!

Before Kenneth left, we found an apartment here! It is actually up a floor and over one from Kyle and Rachael! :) Now I get to live by my sister while still enjoying time with my hubby. :) Kenneth and I don't know what we would be doing right now if it weren't for the support of our family and friends in our move back. So many people coming to help us unload the U-Haul and that should take us no time at all! Kenneth already has a job that he starts the weekend after he gets here; so, that will be nice to start off with a little bit of income since it is only a 2 day a week job, but something is better than nothing. Kenneth will look for another job once he is here and I am hoping that I have somewhat of an idea of what is going on with my applications by Friday at the latest.

And today is the day I am thankful to the Lord for bringing us back home to Lewiston and providing for our needs, even if we can't quite figure out how He is providing.

God Provides

Here it is, May 15, 2012, and I haven't posted in over 2 months! A lot has happened since mid February. On April 27, I flew up to Lewiston to surprise Rachael for her bridal shower the following day! The surprise was fantastic! Rachael had no idea I was coming. :D I am so glad I had the opportunity to go to her shower.

The video of me surprising Rachael. :)

Mom, Rachael, and I after her bridal shower.

I am no longer a nanny for sweet little Ava; I actually got a call from a family that I interviewed with back in February (the Beckwiths) and they needed a nanny for afternoons. I decided to take it, but because I couldn't stay later than 2 p.m. with Ava, they found a new nanny, which actually turned out for the better because the Beckwiths asked me to become their full time nanny! I am so excited. Within the next week, the morning nanny will be finishing her duties and I will take over. This job will be so much better than any other job I have ever had! Once I start full time officially and they come back from vacation, we will be purchasing me a larger vehicle; looks like it is going to be a van because that is the only thing in our price range down here, but I don't mind because right now something bigger would be great. 3 kids all in car seats with a stroller, groceries, dry cleaning, and pool toys..yep, I definitely need a bigger vehicle.

Kenneth has finally been able to start his job at the golf course. He really enjoys it and his coworkers..right now our only problem is one vehicle and trying to get him to the course with three kids and all their different schedules. He is able to play for free whenever he wishes and is loving the opportunity to improve his golf game. He has made a lot of new golfing buddies and they have all been good for his golf demeanor and just great friends. Kenneth is able to spend more time with his swing coach and is improving every day! I am so proud of him and all the effort he is putting into his game to achieve his goal to become professional! He is done with school now and looking forward to the next school year, well more to play golf than attend classes. :)

In less than a month we will be flying back to Lewiston for Rachael and Kyle's wedding! I can't believe it is almost here. Seems like just yesterday they got engaged. I am so happy for them and can't wait to see my sister truly happy again. God has been testing Mom, Rachael, and I this last month and we are slowly pulling through. It has been hard, but I know that God loves us and trusts us with all of this.

Today is the day I realized, even more, how God provides when we need it most.

God's Work

I got a nanny job! :) I am so excited. It isn't enough to allow me to quit Target, but I can work weekdays as a nanny and weekends at Target. I like the nanny job. I am working for a couple who works from home and they have a 3 month old daughter, Ava. She is very well behaved and I enjoy caring for her.

I have the potential to have a weekend nanny job. I am meeting with the family next week. If I get that job I can quit Target and just work as a nanny for 2 different families. I am excited to see where these go.

Kenneth had qualifiers again this week. He did very well and is really enjoying playing golf competitively. He is doing well is school and finally figuring out how to balance school work and golf.

I am loving the weather down here. It is nice being so warm most of the time. We think it is nice and warm and the Arizona natives think it's freezing and we see a lot of people walking around in down coats, scarves, gloves, and hats! It is kind of funny. :) Although the warm weather is nice, I still miss the colder north weather. :)

We are still hoping to be able to find a church soon, and with the weekend nanny job we would be able to do that! :) We both miss going to church and hope to find one soon.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

2012 Already

I cannot believe we are already into mid February of 2012! I can't believe how fast the year is already going!

We are loving being down here in Phoenix! The weather has been beautiful; jeans, t-shirt, and flip flops kind of weather!

I am still working at Target, but they have cut everyone's hours lately so I am looking for a new job: preferably as a nanny! There are so many opportunities down here for a nanny job and I have had a lot of response. Hoping to hear back this week on a couple different jobs.

Kenneth is back in school and is liking it. He is still trying to figure out how to handle homework, golf practice, and spending time with me and our friends. He is loving playing on the golf team. So far they have had 2 weeks of qualifiers and this week starts another. He is still learning the best way to keep his head in the game while playing competitively and playing well. But, he loves it.

We have had the opportunity to hang out with some friends we have: Michael and Taylor and their daughter Peyton. We have spent hours at their house playing games and watching little 1 year old Peyton be super cute as she runs around! :)

Unfortunately, we still have not had the opportunity to find a church. I have worked every Sunday morning from 5-10 a.m. and by then all the churches around here are already almost done. We would love to be able to go find a church soon. Hopefully one of the nanny jobs that I applied for works out this week, and depending on pay, I may not have to work at Target at all.

Hope you are all doing well and I cannot wait to come home in June for my sister's wedding and to see everyone!

We did it!

We are finally in Phoenix! :) We left Lewiston on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 6:15 a.m. and drove to Elko, NV (which was our longest drive) to spend the night with Pam and Richard Williamson (my aunt and uncle). We stopped in Mountain Home, ID to have lunch with my best friend Melissa Blanchard. It was so nice to be able to see her again; since I haven't seen her for over 6 months! We had a nice lunch with Melissa and once we got to Elko, we had a nice dinner with Pam and Richard and the kids. We left Elko on Friday morning, October 7 at 8 a.m. and drove to Las Vegas, NV (about 7 hours from Elko) where we stayed with Lee and Susan Kane, friends from Emmanuel Baptist. We had a great time with them. Susan made dinner and then we sat in the hot tub for about two hours. It was so nice to relax! We left Las Vegas on Saturday morning, October 8 at 7:30 a.m. and drove to Phoenix (about 5 hours from Phoenix). After a small detour off of our exit due to road construction, we finally made it to our apartment! We signed all the papers and got the keys and then moved in! Kenneth called the golf coach about halfway to Phoenix to ask if he knew anyone who could come help us move. Coach turned out being the only one who came, but we had the entire U-haul and car unpacked in just 2 hours. Maybe less! :)Our apartment is super cute! It is only 600 square feet, which is a lot smaller than the Lewiston apartment, but there is enough storage throughout the apartment that even with all the stuff we brought, you would never guess that two 21 year olds have so much crap! :)

We rented a 10 foot U-haul truck and a tow dolly to tow the car and carry all our belongings. Both Kenneth's dad and my dad told us that we wouldn't need anything bigger than a 10 foot truck. Boy were they wrong! The U-haul was packed full, to the point we had to push stuff back as we opened the door; and the car was packed to the gills as well! We had to leave our recliner and a nightstand behind, along with all of my scrapbooking stuff! We are definitely getting at least a 14 foot truck next time we move! :)

We are really enjoying our time here so far. We have our little 10-15 mile radius around our apartment where there are like 10 Walmarts, 7 Costcos, and tons of gas stations. Speaking of gas stations, the most expensive gas that I have seen in town: $3.27/gallon; the cheapest: $3.12/gallon! :) Kenneth has talked to the coach and is going to fill out all the paperwork he needs in order to be on the golf team, and then all he has left to do is tryout. I have already had two really great job opportunities. We will see how they pan out in the next few weeks. There are lots of medical campuses around us and so I will start going around in person and applying. Praying that God opens the job door, soon! :)

Our apartment complex is really nice as well. We have one assigned, covered parking space. Our apartment is on the third floor, so it was interesting hauling everything up the stairs! Boy did my calves get a workout! After we got here and unloaded the car and pulled it off of the tow dolly, we parked it in our assigned parking spot. Well, we went to Walmart at about 8 p.m. that night and when we came back, I parked in our spot. Well, as soon as I pulled in a lady sat behind me in her car and just honked. Thinking that I may have double parked, I pulled out and pulled back in. By now she is just laying on her horn! I was so upset and angry that my gracious, wonderful husband got out and talked to her. Well she claimed that it was her spot and had been for a year and that we needed to move. So, me, being super upset and tired and just flat out annoyed, pulled out and went and found a different, unassigned parking spot and was very dramatic about it. We went and talk to the office and we were in the right spot and she was in the wrong spot, so the office told us to park there. The next morning we had a note on the car from the lady who claimed it was her spot. She threatened to have our car towed at our expense, which she can't technically do because she doesn't own the property. We went and talked to the office again and they called the lady this time and the lady said that she has spot 275 and that we were parking in it. So the lady in the office came out and looked with us and spot 275 is no where near our spot-175- and the number 1 doesn't look anything like the number 2, like the lady said they did! HA! So, the office must have taken care of it cause we are in our spot and haven't had any more nasty notes! LOL

Today we drove to Scottsdale to go to the Golfsmith store so Kenneth could look at some stuff, and to just get out of the apartment. We had a nice little drive and got to see more of our radius. We came home and I started the dishwasher. So glad I did that while we were home and awake instead of away or asleep. The dishwasher started leaking water everywhere! Kenneth called the office who called maintenance and turns out that the motor was stuck. So far the dishwasher is working great. We will see what happens next time I have to run it!

It didn't take very long for me to have everything unpacked, like 24 hours. We still have a box out that is full of our pictures to hang up and a box of candles that I have to decide what to do with. We actually have a lot more space than I originally thought we were going to. Turns out it is a good thing we had to leave the recliner and night stand behind because we would not have been able to fit them in comfortably!

The weather has been really nice ever since we got here. Today the weather was about 94 degrees and tomorrow through Friday it is supposed to be almost 100 degrees, if not hotter! :) Time for the pool! I can finally get some sun! :) We have a laundry room on site, so we don't have to drive to a laundromat and we don't have to carry coins around all the time! :) There is also a fitness center right at the bottom of the stairs to our apartment, so that will be motivation enough for us to go! :) Can't wait until we get the chance! :)

Here are some pictures of our apartment! We really like it!

Decisions

After months of deliberation and going back and forth between cities to move to, we finally chose Phoenix, Arizona! Crazy, I know, but the way everything has worked out has definitely been a God thing! Kenneth is going to attend Arizona Christian University and try out for the golf team. He has been talking with the coach a lot and looking at scores of current athletes, and he has a pretty good shot at making the team! Woot!

We have an apartment in Phoenix! It is a very nice 600 sq. foot apartment with lots of cupboard space, a balcony, and a little storage area off the balcony! Yay!! I am just excited for all the cupboards! :) I feel so calm about this move and am more excited about moving to Phoenix than I ever was about moving to Bozeman or Salem. I really feel that this is where we are supposed to be moving! I feel God has led us there and, even though neither one of us have jobs yet, I know God will provide. I just have to put forth that extra effort once we get to Phoenix to go job hunting, which I am more than willing to do.

I have found lots of job opportunities down there, which is such a blessing. No one has asked me to come for an interview, and I think that is due to me living almost 24 hours away. So, I have been revising my resume left and right to improve it and make it say, "Hire me! I need a job!" haha...if only I really could type that!

Over Labor Day weekend I had the opportunity to go camping with my family and do the traditional church outing at Wilderness Gateway. Unfortunately, Kenneth had to stay in Lewiston to work and play in a golf tournament. I missed camping with him and going on vacation together. But, I got the vacation that I have been wanting and needing all summer! I had a great time with everyone! Rachael and I slept in the tent and had a great time staying up and talking and just having sister bonding time! :)

Thank you everyone for your prayers! We are really excited about this and know that it is going to be good for us to get out on our own and rely more on each other and our community and the friends we make while living there. We are leaving on October 6 and arriving in Phoenix on October 8. We will sign our apartment papers then and pay our fees and get our keys and move in! :) Woot!! We pray that we will be lucky enough to find jobs within weeks of us moving so we can pay our bills. Thank you again! Loves!

On Sunday, July 17, 2011, we had our church picnic at Hells Gate State Park. We started our service at 10:30 and then barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers for all who attended. We had an awesome turnout: 210 people! We were so excited to see so many people, and there were many that I have never seen before.

This is Kenneth's last week of his WSI class. Come Friday night, he will be a certified swim lesson instructor! Woot! He seems to really be enjoying his class. His biggest challenge this week is his final lesson he has to teach Thursday night: How to teach a child with cerebral palsy the breast-stroke. That seems like it would be difficult, which is why he is getting certified and not me! ha! Once he has his certification, he is a lot more valuable to the Aquatic Center, so they will probably keep him on as an employee once school starts, which will be nice since my job is not permanent.

Tomorrow I start my new job at Hells Gate State Park! I am so excited! I have been sitting around too long not making any money and not having a whole lot to do. I will be getting 40 hours a week, which is not what I expected from a seasonal job, but that is fantastic that I can get that many hours! I am still looking wherever I can to find a job that will be full time so I can support Kenneth and I while he goes back to school in the fall. It is so hard to find a medical job right now, so I am just looking at any business that needs a receptionist or something of the sort. Let me know if you hear or see anything available!

We are still praying and waiting to see where God is leading us. Continue to pray for us!

This May Be an Open Window!

Today I was offered a job! It is only a seasonal job, but it is something right now that will help us pay off stuff! The job is only until the end of September and I will be working at Hells Gate State Park. I will work between the kiosk and the office. I am so excited! It shall be a wonderful thing to where I can work but continue to look for a job.

This week and next week Kenneth is taking a class Monday through Friday evenings where he is learning how to become a swim lesson instructor. He said that he really enjoys the class and can't wait to teach swim lessons. He will be able to teach lessons at the Aquatic Center or teach privately if he can find a pool to teach at.

Well with this new job opportunity for me, we will be able to start saving money to pay off some of the debt we have, unfortunately, acquired these last few months and to pay for another vehicle. The Lord is so good and knows our limitations, but then He also stretches us even farther because He knows how far we can be stretched.

Summer Living!

These last couple of months have been crazy. I have been on the job hunt for about two months and am having a really hard time finding a job. Praying that God had the right job available for me soon. Kenneth has started his job at the Clarkston Aquatic Center and really enjoys all of his coworkers and the job.

Back in May I graduated from Lewis-Clark State College with my associate's degree and two certificates. I was hoping that I would be able to find a job easily, but apparently that isn't what God wants right now. God has definitely been testing my patience with me not having a job. I have been giving my life over to him even more these last couple months praying and looking for a job opportunity that opens soon. Please continue to pray for me that I will find the right job soon.

Kenneth is all registered for school in the fall. We now need to find all his books online and order them. That might turn into a task. :) He is still working on his golf so that he might be able to get a golf scholarship to LCSC and that will help us pay for school as well.

We are still looking for a second vehicle. Once winter comes, Kenneth will not be able to ride his motorcycle to school and if he gets on the golf team, he won't be able to ride his motorcycle with his clubs and his backpack. So, looking for a cheap, reliable car that we can buy in a few months..finding something cheap but reliable is kinda difficult.

We are still living with John and Linda. We are so grateful to them for allowing us to stay there until we can get back on our feet. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time there and cannot thank them enough for the graciousness. I have no idea where we would be without them.

Kenneth and I are not sure where God is taking us and when we will be going there, but we are trusting him to lead us in the right direction to where ever it is He wants us to go. Please continue to pray for us and our lives as we wait on God and where we are going. Thank you and have a fantastic 4th of July!
